Carl Knox DDS - Meet Our Team
Shelby Business Administrator
Hello, my name is Shelby. As a former employee of Dr. Knox Family Dentistry (1986-1995), I was delighted and honored to be asked to join them once again in October of 2016! I will try my best to fill the void left by Kathie, who after almost thirty faithful years, will be sorely missed by Dr. Knox, her co-workers and patients alike!
I am a Tacoma native and have spent most of my life in the area. But after twenty years living and working for a dental practice in Seattle, I moved back to Tacoma after buying a house. When the opportunity presented itself to return to this well established practice rather than commute to Seattle, I definitely choose to take advantage of it! I spend my off hours with my family and friends (especially my three adorable grandchildren), reading, walking, and spending time restoring my home and self!
I look forward to spending many more years with this team of highly experienced and qualified professionals and hope to meet all of the many patients who have put their trust in Dr. Knox all these years. I am just as anxious to meet new clients who are willing to allow us to take the time to serve their dental needs and earn their trust in the process!
Liz RDH Hygienist
Hello! My name is Liz. I began working with Dr. Knox in September 1989. Since that time I believe that we have grown to share the same philosophy of practice, which is to provide our patients with high quality care. I also feel that we have developed a wonderful personal relationship that is achieved by a mutual respect and appreciation of all who enter our office.
I enrolled in the Hygiene Program at Pierce College in 1983 and proceeded to graduate in 1985 and become a Licensed Hygienist.
I take great pride in attending continued dental education seminars in order to share the changes in recommendations or products that will better help our patients achieve and maintain good oral health. I believe that the longevity of the staff has helped to develop long-standing relationships. We are like a family and I feel that this is my home away from home.
On a more personal note, I have been married since 1992. My husband, Rick, is a journeyman electrician, who loves to golf in his spare time. We have a son, Jacob, and a daughter, Tonya, as well as a beautiful German Shepherd named Tia. I like being a "homebody" so that I may enjoy baking, cooking, reading and regularly exercising. My real joy, though, comes from volunteering at Jacob's school as often as I can.
As a patient in our practice my goal would be for you to experience the same sense of pride and commitment that the staff has while increasing your knowledge of your dental needs.
Hi There! My name is Tiffany. Having graduated the Pierce College Dental Hygiene program in 2010, I went straight to work for a dentist in Puyallup for 7 years...loved my patients there, but with a new baby I needed to find an office with more flexible hours so I could savor and cherish my moments with my son all the more. He is 18 months now and we are expecting another baby boy December 31st, 2017!
My official start with this practice was March of 2017. I feel so blessed to have found my forever dental home at Dr. Knox's office. The entire staff of girls are wonderful and readily included me in their weekly lunch dates. They have all made me feel so welcome. Dr. Knox has been great and I am so appreciative to him for welcoming me into his practice. Feels like I'm finally where I'm supposed to be! I am confident in recommending him to my family and friends!
In my "free-time" I enjoy going to swim lessons and toddler gym with my son, and singing on the worship team at my church. I am married to an amazing man that works so hard for our family both inside and outside of our home. He recently got a new job with PSE as a Project Manager for Vegetation Management, and I'm so proud of him. We enjoy watching Netflix or Hulu in the evenings, while cuddling with our 2 dogs and 4 cats! We are also always looking forward to the next adventure and try to travel a couple times per year.
As far as patient care goes, I am passionate about staying up on the latest and greatest techniques and products that will benefit you. I want to make your experience here as great as possible...meaning keeping you comfortable, providing excellent patient education and building a relationship with each person that sits in my chair. I truly love getting to know each and every one of you!
