An outdated term, since most ceramic veneers are made of lithium disilicate today. Dr. Knox has been placing ceramic veneers since 1987 after learning of the technique from one of the restoration's pioneers, Dr. Robert Nixon. We do not know of many dentists who have been placing them longer, although certainly there are some. Most of the cases we have placed, even from those early days, are still in place today. Veneers are beautiful and conservative, qualities that perfectly fit our office philosophy. Here, before and after images replacing worn and fractured veneers.
